ईश्वरो विक्रमी धन्वी मेधावी विक्रम: क्रम: । अनुत्तमो दुराधर्ष: कृतज्ञ: कृतिरात्मवान्
īśvaro vikramī dhanvī medhāvī vikramaḥ kramaḥ | anuttamo durādharṣaḥ kṛtajñaḥ kṛtir ātmavān ||
ভীষ্মে ক’লে—তেওঁ ঈশ্বৰ, সৰ্বশক্তিমান; বিক্ৰমী, শূৰ; ধন্বী, ধনুৰ্ধৰ; মেধাৱী, অতি বুদ্ধিমান; বিক্ৰম আৰু ক্ৰম—পৰাক্ৰম আৰু লক্ষ্যবদ্ধ পদক্ষেপৰ স্বৰূপ। তেওঁ অনুত্তম, সৰ্বোৎকৃষ্ট; দুঃসাধ্য-অধর্ষ, অজেয়; কৃতজ্ঞ, সামান্য অৰ্পণকো মহৎ বুলি গণ্য কৰা; কৃতি, সকলো পুৰুষাৰ্থৰ আধাৰ; আৰু আত্মবান—নিজ মহিমাত স্থিত, স্বাধীন।
