Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)
सो<यं नारायण: श्रीमान् दीप्त्या परमया युत: । व्रतं यथावत् तच्चीरत्त्वा द्वारकां पुनरागमत्
so ’yaṁ nārāyaṇaḥ śrīmān dīptyā paramayā yutaḥ | vrataṁ yathāvat tac cīrṇtvā dvārakāṁ punar āgamat ||
তাৰ পাছত পৰম তেজেৰে যুক্ত সেই শ্ৰীমান্ নাৰায়ণে নিজৰ ব্ৰত যথাবিধি সম্পূৰ্ণ কৰি পুনৰ দ্বাৰকাপুৰীলৈ উভতি আহিল।
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores dharma as disciplined follow-through: a vow (vrata) should be undertaken and completed properly (yathāvat), reflecting integrity, self-control, and fidelity to one’s chosen duty.
Bhīṣma describes Nārāyaṇa as supremely radiant and auspicious, stating that after completing a vowed observance in the prescribed manner, he returned again to the city of Dvārakā.
