Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity
प्रदक्षिणं च कुर्वीत परिज्ञातान् वनस्पतीन्
pradakṣiṇaṃ ca kurvīta parijñātān vanaspatīn
ভীষ্মে ক’লে—যিসকল গছ ভালদৰে পৰিচিত আৰু বুজা-জানা, সিহঁতৰো শ্ৰদ্ধাৰে প্ৰদক্ষিণা কৰা উচিত; পৰিচিত উদ্ভিদকো আদৰ আৰু সাৱধানতাৰ যোগ্য বুলি মানিব লাগে।
भीष्म उवाच
Dharmic conduct includes reverence toward the natural world: one should honor recognized trees/plants through respectful gestures like pradakṣiṇā, fostering humility and non-harm.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction on right conduct (Anuśāsana Parva), he prescribes a specific practice—circumambulating well-known trees—presenting it as part of ethical and ritual discipline.
