Ādi-parva Adhyāya 3 — Janamejaya’s Rite, Dhaumya’s Parīkṣā, and Uttanka’s Kuṇḍala Quest (सर्पसत्रप्रस्तावना–गुरुपरीक्षा–उत्तङ्कोपाख्यान)

स एवमुक्तस्तां क्षत्रियां प्रत्युवाच भगवति सुनिर्वता भव । न मां शक्तस्तक्षको नागराजो धर्षयितुमिति,रानीके ऐसा कहनेपर उत्तंकने उन क्षत्राणीसे कहा--'देवि! आप निश्षिन्त रहें। नागराज तक्षक मुझसे भिड़नेका साहस नहीं कर सकता”

sa evam uktas tāṁ kṣatriyāṁ pratyuvāca—bhagavati sunirvṛtā bhava; na māṁ śaktas takṣako nāgarājo dharṣayitum iti.

এনেদৰে কোৱা হ’লে উত্তঙ্কে সেই ক্ষত্ৰিয়া নাৰীক ক’লে—“ভগৱতী, আপুনি সম্পূৰ্ণ নিশ্চিন্ত থাকক। নাগৰাজ তক্ষক মোৰ ওপৰত আধিপত্য স্থাপন কৰিবলৈ বা ভয় দেখুৱাবলৈ সক্ষম নহয়।”
