Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga Purana teaching to the sages of Naimisharanya)
The verse frames devotion to Śiva (as expressed through Linga-centered practice) as a direct means that both grants yogic fruition and reveals Śiva-jnāna, making it a practical “ladder” from worldly states to the supreme goal.
Śiva-tattva is presented as self-revealing knowledge (śivajñāna) that dispels ignorance; as Pati, Śiva is the liberating Lord who enables the paśu to transcend all lokas and overcome pāśa.
It highlights the Pāśupata-oriented yoga-path where disciplined practice and Śiva-upāsanā culminate in siddhi and, beyond siddhi, in Śiva-jnāna that leads to mokṣa.
