गङ्गायमुनयोर्मध्ये स्थितिं प्राप्तः सहानुगः ततो व्यतीते काले तु सामात्यः सहसैनिकः
gaṅgāyamunayormadhye sthitiṃ prāptaḥ sahānugaḥ tato vyatīte kāle tu sāmātyaḥ sahasainikaḥ

By placing the narrative in the Gaṅgā–Yamunā sacred region, the verse signals a tirtha-setting where Śiva-pūjā and Linga-pratiṣṭhā traditionally bear intensified merit and become conducive to Śiva’s anugraha (grace).
Indirectly, it frames the world as a field governed by kāla (time) and movement, within which the pashu (individual) seeks stability; in Śaiva Siddhānta, true स्थिति (abiding) culminates when the pashu is freed from pāśa (bondage) by Pati, Śiva.
A tirtha-stay (kshetra-vāsa) is implied: dwelling in a sacred confluence-region to undertake purification, japa, vrata, and Śiva/Linga worship—often preparatory supports for Pāśupata-oriented discipline.
