Suta Goswami (narrating the phala-śruti to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
It presents kīrtana (devotional recitation) as a protective act empowered by Shiva’s anugraha—implying that remembering and proclaiming the Lord’s sacred narrative functions like a spiritual kavaca for the worshipper.
Shiva is implied as Pati—the sovereign who can neutralize mṛtyu-bhaya (fear of death) for the paśu (embodied soul), indicating His role as the giver of fearlessness and the bestower of victorious dharma.
Kīrtana/śravaṇa-based practice: reciting the sacred account before undertaking a dangerous act. It aligns with Pāśupata orientation by using remembrance and devotion to loosen pāśa (bondage) such as fear and despair.
