Chapter 185 — नवमीव्रतानि (The Observances for Navamī)
ভগৱান অগ্নিয়ে বসিষ্ঠক গৌৰী/দুৰ্গাসংযুক্ত নবমী-ব্ৰত উপদেশ দিয়ে ভুক্তি আৰু মুক্তি—দুয়োটা সিদ্ধিৰ স্পষ্ট প্ৰতিশ্ৰুতি দিয়ে। নবমীক ‘পিষ্টকা’ বুলি চিহ্নিত কৰা হৈছে; আশ্বিন শুক্ল নবমীৰ নিখুঁত কালনির্ণয়, নক্ষত্ৰ-শৰ্ত আৰু দেৱীপূজাৰ পাছত ময়দা/পিষ্টজাত ভোজন-সেৱনৰ বিধান উল্লেখ আছে। তাৰ পাছত মহিষমৰ্দিনী দুৰ্গাক কেন্দ্ৰ কৰি ৰাজৰক্ষাৰ লিতুৰ্জি—দেৱীক নৱ স্থানত বা একেটা মন্দিৰত অধিষ্ঠিতা বুলি ধৰি, বহু-ভুজ মূৰ্তিৰ নিৰ্দিষ্ট অস্ত্ৰ-উপকৰণসহ ধ্যান। দশাক্ষৰী দুৰ্গা-ৰক্ষা মন্ত্র, অন্য মন্ত্র, অঙ্গুষ্ঠৰ পৰা কনিষ্ঠা পৰ্যন্ত ন্যাস, গোপনীয়তা আৰু অবিঘ্ন সাধনাৰ ওপৰত জোৰ দিয়া হৈছে। অস্ত্ৰপূজা, উগ্ৰ দেৱীনাম, দিশাবলি (কিছুমান পাঠত ৰক্ত/মাংস), পিষ্টৰ শত্রু-প্ৰতিমা নিষ্প্ৰভ কৰা, ৰাতি মাতৃকা আৰু উগ্ৰৰূপ পূজা, পঞ্চামৃত স্নান, বলি আৰু ধ্বজা-স্থাপন/ৰথযাত্ৰা—ভক্তি, প্ৰতিমাধ্যান আৰু ৰাজধৰ্ম-ৰক্ষাক একেলগে গাঁথে।

The chapter gives a ten-syllabled protective mantra: “Oṃ, O Durgā, O Durgā, protect (me)! Svāhā,” used as a rakṣā (protection) formula within the Navamī observance.
