एवं दत्तेन प्रीयन्ते प्रेतलोकगता नराः ॥ अदत्वा प्रेतभागं तु भुङ्क्ते यस्तत्र मानवः ॥
evaṃ dattena prīyante pretalokagatā narāḥ | adatvā pretabhāgaṃ tu bhuṅkte yas tatra mānavaḥ ||
بهذه العطايا على هذا الوجه يُقال إن من مضوا إلى عالم الأموات يرضون. أمّا الإنسان الذي يأكل هناك دون أن يقدّم أولاً نصيب الميت (pretabhāga) فإنه يخالف الشعيرة.
