Verse 19

Parabrahma

तस्मात् सर्वप्रयत्नेन मोक्षापेक्षी भवेद् यतिः । बहिःसूत्रं परित्यज्य स्वान्तःसूत्रं तु धारयेत् ॥१९॥

तस्मात् । सर्व-प्रयत्नेन । मोक्ष-अपेक्षी । भवेत् । यतिः । बहिः-सूत्रम् । परित्यज्य । स्व-अन्तः-सूत्रम् । तु । धारयेत् ॥१९॥

tasmāt sarvaprayatnena mokṣāpekṣī bhaved yatiḥ | bahiḥsūtraṃ parityajya svāntaḥsūtraṃ tu dhārayet ||19||

لذلك، وبكلِّ جهدٍ، ينبغي للزاهد المتنسِّك (ياتي) أن يكون طالبًا للتحرّر؛ فإذا ترك الخيطَ المقدّسَ الخارجي، فليحمل حقًّا الخيطَ الداخلي، أي السُّوترا الباطنة.

Therefore, with every effort, the renunciate (yati) should become one who seeks liberation; having abandoned the external sacred thread, he should indeed bear the inner thread (the inward ‘sūtra’).
