tāmasaṃ rājasaṃ vāpi yatkṛtaṃ viṣṇupūjanam | tatsāttvikatvamabhyeti nimnagāṃbho yathārṇave

حتى عبادةُ فيشنو إن أُدّيت بطابعٍ تاماسيّ أو راجاسيّ، فإن أثرها يصير ساتفِيًّا؛ كما أن مياه النهر إذا بلغت المحيط اكتسبت طبيعةَ البحر.
