| sūta uvāca | tathānyāpi ca tatrāsti śaktiḥ pāpapraṇāśinī | kārtikeyena nirmuktā hatvā vai tārakaṃ raṇe
قال سوتا: ثم إنّ هناك أيضًا «شَكْتي» أخرى، رمحًا مقدّسًا مُبيدًا للآثام، أطلقه كارتّيكيا بعد أن قتل تارَكا في ساحة القتال.
Sūta
Tirtha: Śakti-tīrtha (Kārttikeya-śakti) at the described site
Type: kshetra
Scene: Sūta narrates as the scene shifts to a sacred spot where Skanda’s spear stands or is enshrined; a visionary backdrop shows Kārttikeya in battle slaying Tāraka, linking the relic to the cosmic event.
Places sanctified by divine exploits—especially Skanda’s victory over adharma—are portrayed as potent for purification from sin.
A local tīrtha connected to Kārttikeya’s Śakti (divine spear) is introduced, continuing the tīrtha catalogue of Nāgarakhaṇḍa.
No direct rite is prescribed in this verse; it identifies the sacred object and its sin-destroying nature as the basis for worship.
