duḥśīla uvāca | yācasva tvaṃ prabho śīghraṃ yāṃ te yacchāmi dakṣiṇām | tāṃ pradāsyāmi cecchaktirvittaśāṭhyavivarjitām
قال دُحشِيلَة: «يا ربّ، اسأل سريعًا عن غورو-دكشِنا التي أقدّمها لك. فإن كانت لي قدرةٌ أعطيتُها، منزّهةً عن كل خداعٍ في المال.»
Duḥśīla
Scene: A devotee named Duḥśīla speaks with urgency and sincerity to the sage, hands open in pledge, emphasizing honest giving; attendants and building materials suggest an ongoing sacred project.
True merit in dāna and guru-dakṣiṇā arises from sincerity and freedom from deceit, not merely from the amount given.
Within Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya, the episode leads toward the establishment/glorification of a Śiva-site later named Nimbēśvara.
Offering dakṣiṇā (guru’s fee/charitable gift) with honest intent and without financial trickery.
