या स्थावरं जंगममाशु विश्वं व्याप्य स्थिता या प्रकृतेः पुरापि । स्पृहादिरूपेण च तृप्तिदात्री देवे प्रसुप्ते तपसाऽप शुद्धिम्
yā sthāvaraṃ jaṃgamamāśu viśvaṃ vyāpya sthitā yā prakṛteḥ purāpi | spṛhādirūpeṇa ca tṛptidātrī deve prasupte tapasā'pa śuddhim
هي التي تسري وتستقر في العالم كله، في الثابت والمتحرّك؛ وهي التي كانت موجودة حتى قبل تجلّي البركريتي (الطبيعة)؛ وهي التي، في صورٍ كالشوق، تمنح الإشباع. ولما كان الإله نائمًا، أزالت الدنس بوسيلة التنسّك (التابَس).

Scene: A cosmic tableau: the Devi’s subtle presence permeates mountains, forests, animals, and humans (still and moving). In the background, a great Deva lies in yogic sleep; in the foreground, the Devi performs tapas, and a dark haze of impurity dissipates into clear light.
Tapas is portrayed as a purifying force powerful enough to cleanse cosmic impurity, modeled by the all-pervading Devī.
The passage belongs to the Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra Māhātmya within the Nāgara-khaṇḍa’s sacred-geography discourse.
Tapas for purification (śuddhi) is explicitly indicated.
