अमावास्यादिने प्राप्ते गृहद्वारं समाश्रिता । वायुभूताः प्रवांछन्ति श्राद्धं पितृगणा नृणाम् । यावदस्तमयं भानोः क्षुत्पिपासास माकुलाः
amāvāsyādine prāpte gṛhadvāraṃ samāśritā | vāyubhūtāḥ pravāṃchanti śrāddhaṃ pitṛgaṇā nṛṇām | yāvadastamayaṃ bhānoḥ kṣutpipāsāsa mākulāḥ
إذا أقبل يوم الأَمَاوَاسْيَا، وقفت جماعات الآباء الأسلاف (الپِتْرِ)—لطيفةً كالريح—على أبواب بيوت الناس، تتطلع إلى شْرادْدها؛ وتمكث هناك إلى غروب الشمس، مضطربةً من الجوع والعطش.
