क्षुत्पिपासातुरा दीना दुःखेन महताऽन्विताः । पदपद्धतिमार्गेण येन यातः स भूपतिः

kṣutpipāsāturā dīnā duḥkhena mahatā'nvitāḥ | padapaddhatimārgeṇa yena yātaḥ sa bhūpatiḥ

أضناهم الجوعُ والعطشُ، فغدَوا بائسين مثقلين ببلاءٍ عظيم؛ وجاؤوا عبرَ نفسِ الدربِ الضيّق الذي سلكه ذلك الملك.
