māṃsāda uvāca | prasādāttava bhūpāla mukto'haṃ pretayonitaḥ | svasti te'stu gamiṣyāmi sāṃprataṃ tridivā layam
Māṁsāda
Type: kshetra
Scene: The liberated Māṁsāda, radiant and serene, addresses the king from a celestial vimāna, hands in blessing; the king listens in awe as the being announces freedom from preta-yoni and departure to heaven.
Śrāddha done with faith at a sacred place can relieve afflicted departed beings and elevate them to higher realms.
Gayāśiras is the implied tīrtha whose śrāddha grants liberation from preta-state.
The efficacy of śrāddha is affirmed; the verse highlights the intended result—release of the departed.
