tasya saṃvatsaraṃ yāvatsamagraṃ surasundari | na bhaviṣyati vai rogo na bhayaṃ na parābhavaḥ | nāpamṛtyurna caurādi samudbhūta upadravaḥ
Devāḥ (the gods)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A protective aura around the devotee’s household and journey: illness and thieves are turned away; the devotee stands healthy and fearless under Devī’s blessing for a full year.
True devotion yields tangible worldly protection—health, safety, and steadiness—alongside spiritual merit.
The Devī-centered tīrtha of Vindhyavāsinī implied in the surrounding verses of this chapter.
The promised protections are the stated fruit of worship performed on Āśvina śukla Aṣṭamī–Navamī with devotion.
