seśvaraṃ karma viddhyotatsamarthatvena jāyate | na hyanyaḥ karmmaṇo dātā īśvareṇa vinā bhavet
Madhusūdana (Viṣṇu)
Tirtha: Kedāra
Type: kshetra
Scene: A pilgrim offers a simple leaf and water to a Śiva-liṅga; a subtle radiance indicates that the Lord ‘joins’ the act, transforming it into efficacious karma.
Ritual and moral action bear fruit only through alignment with Īśvara; divine sanction is the source of efficacy.
No specific location is praised in this verse; it provides a universal theological principle within Kedārakhaṇḍa.
Perform karma as seśvara—connected to Īśvara—rather than as a merely mechanical rite.
