ऋषय ऊचुः । पार्वत्याधिकृतं सर्वं मदनानयनं प्रति । संबरेण हृतातन्वी मदनस्य प्रिया सती । अत ऊर्ध्वं तदा सूत किं जातं तत्र वर्ण्यताम्

قال الحكماء: «لقد رُوِيَ كلُّ ما قامت به بارفَتِي (Pārvatī) لاستحضار مَدَنَة (Madana). وقد اختطف شَمْبَرا (Śaṃbara) حبيبةَ مَدَنَة النحيلةَ العفيفة. فماذا حدث بعد ذلك، يا سوتا (Sūta)؟ صِفْ لنا الأمر».
