śuklavittena yo dharmaṃ prakuryācchraddhayānvitaḥ | tīrthaṃ pātraṃ samāsādya devatve tatsamaśnute
Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) to the sages
Type: kshetra
Scene: A serene pilgrim at a tīrtha-ghāṭa offers a clean gift (cloth/food/coins) with folded hands to a composed, worthy brāhmaṇa/ascetic; river and shrine in the background; aura of purity and blessing.
Faithful dharma performed with pure means, in a holy setting and to a worthy recipient, yields exalted spiritual elevation.
The verse praises the principle of tīrtha generally (any sanctified place), without naming a particular location.
Dāna/dharma should be done with śraddhā, at a tīrtha, and given to a pātra (qualified recipient).
