कृतोपनयनः सोथ बालो गुरुकुले वसन् । चकार गुरुशुश्रूषां भिक्षान्नकृतभोजनः
kṛtopanayanaḥ sotha bālo gurukule vasan | cakāra guruśuśrūṣāṃ bhikṣānnakṛtabhojanaḥ
بعد أن أُقيم له طقس الأوبانايانا، أقام—وهو بعدُ غلام—في بيت المعلّم؛ فخدم الغورو، وعاش على طعامٍ يُنال بالصدقة.
