yattyāgenyatra kṛpaṇastatprāpya maṇikarṇikām | dadāmi jaṃtumātrāya sarvasvaṃ cirasaṃcitam
Skanda (deduced, Kāśīkhaṇḍa context)
Tirtha: Maṇikarṇikā
Type: ghat
Listener: Purāṇic audience within Kāśīkhaṇḍa narration
Scene: Śiva as unseen benefactor at Maṇikarṇikā: a miser clutching coins transforms into a softened devotee as a shower of light (symbolic ‘sarvasva’) descends; around, beings of many kinds—humans, animals, birds—are included under the same blessing.
Contact with Maṇikarṇikā transforms scarcity into grace—divine generosity overcomes the miser’s clinging and rewards all beings.
Maṇikarṇikā in Kāśī (Varanasi).
Tyāga (renunciation/letting-go) and the spirit of dāna are implied; the verse highlights divine bestowal upon arrival at Maṇikarṇikā.
