Narrator (Skanda-to-Agastya frame inferred; verse is narrative description within Kāśīkhaṇḍa)
Tirtha: Kāśī-parikramā (kṣetra-pradakṣiṇā)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A venerable sage, after bowing to assembled sages and townsfolk—children, elders—walks the circumambulatory path around Kāśī; trees lean and grasses ripple as if following, while the city’s ghāṭas and temples glow in farewell light.
A holy place is honored through respectful leave-taking and parikramā; devotion sanctifies even the act of departure.
Kāśī (Vārāṇasī), revered as a city worthy of circumambulation.
Purī-parikramā—circumambulation of the sacred city as an act of reverence.
