يلبس ثوبًا مصبوغًا بالعُصفر (kusumbha)، ويحمل عصًا، ويقتات من الصدقات، ويتنزّه عن الشهرة؛ ويُستحسن أن يكون إناؤه من القرع أو الخشب أو الطين أو الخيزران، ولا يُقرّ نوعٌ خامس.
