Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Ekādaśī in Kāśī: devotees fasting, holding tulasī and rudrākṣa, moving between ghāṭas and temples; a symbolic four-month (Cāturmāsya) arc shown as compressed into a single bright day.
Kāśī is presented as a grace-filled accelerator of dharma: a single Ekādaśī fast there yields the merit of longer vows elsewhere.
Kāśī (Vārāṇasī), the liberating Śaiva kṣetra, is glorified for magnifying vrata-phala.
Ekādaśī-upavāsa (fasting on the eleventh lunar day), said to grant the fruit of Cāturmāsya-vrata when observed in Kāśī.
