Tirtha: Gaṅgā (Viṣṇupadodbhavā) in Kāśī
Type: ghat
Listener: Ṛṣi audience in frame
Scene: Viṣṇu as Trivikrama with one foot raised; from the toe/footstep springs a luminous stream becoming Gaṅgā Devī, who then flows into Kāśī where devotees bathe; she is shown as a mother blessing pilgrims, severing a vine labeled ‘tṛṣṇā’.
True tīrtha-purity culminates in inner satisfaction: Gaṅgā purifies externally and severs craving internally.
Gaṅgā in Kāśī, contextualized within her pan-Indian cosmic origin and tīrtha-maternity.
No explicit ritual; it implies that snāna and devotion at Gaṅgā lead to purification and contentment.
