तद्ब्रवीमि मुनिश्रेष्ठाः शृणुध्वं श्रद्धया सह । पुरा देवासुरे युद्धे देवैर्नाशितपुत्रिणी । दितिः प्रोवाच तनयामात्मनः शोकमोहिता
tadbravīmi muniśreṣṭhāḥ śṛṇudhvaṃ śraddhayā saha | purā devāsure yuddhe devairnāśitaputriṇī | ditiḥ provāca tanayāmātmanaḥ śokamohitā
هذا ما سأقصّه عليكم، يا خيرَ الحكماء—فاسمعوا بإيمان. قديماً، في حربِ الدِّيفاتِ والأسورات، كانت دِتي قد سُلِبت أبناءَها على يد الدِّيفات، فغمرها الحزنُ والذهول، فخاطبت ابنتَها.
