सूत उवाच । एकवर्षं तर्पणीयं धर्मवाप्यां नरोत्तमः । ऋतौ मासे च पक्षे च विपरीतं च जायते

قال سوتا: «يا خيرَ الرجال، ينبغي أداء طقس التَّرْپَنة في دهرمافابي سنةً كاملة؛ وحتى إن وقع خللٌ في الفصل أو الشهر أو النصف الشهري، فلا ينقلب أثرُ الشعيرة إلى ضدّه».
