तावल्लज्जा भयं तावत्स्वाचारस्तावदेव हि । ज्ञानमौदार्यमैश्वर्यं तावदेव हि भासते । यावन्मत्तांगनापाशैः पातितो नैव बन्धनैः
tāvallajjā bhayaṃ tāvatsvācārastāvadeva hi | jñānamaudāryamaiśvaryaṃ tāvadeva hi bhāsate | yāvanmattāṃganāpāśaiḥ pātito naiva bandhanaiḥ
الحياء والخوف من الإثم لا يدومان إلا إلى ذلك الحدّ، وكذلك السلوك القويم لا يبقى إلا إلى ذلك الحدّ. والمعرفة والسخاء واليسر لا تشرق إلا ما دام المرء لم يُطرَح في أسر القيود، بشِباك امرأة سكرى بالطيش والهوى.
