तमेवाराधयिष्यामि निरंजनमकल्मषः । एवं कृत्वा मतिं दैत्य स्तपस्तेपे सुदुष्करम् । भीतो जन्मभयाद्घोराद्दुष्करं यन्महात्मभिः
tamevārādhayiṣyāmi niraṃjanamakalmaṣaḥ | evaṃ kṛtvā matiṃ daitya stapastepe suduṣkaram | bhīto janmabhayādghorādduṣkaraṃ yanmahātmabhiḥ
«إيّاه وحده سأعبُد—الطاهر الذي لا دنس فيه.» فلمّا عقد الدايِتيا عزمه هكذا، باشر تقشّفًا بالغ العسر، مدفوعًا بخوفٍ رهيب من تكرار المولد، وهو ابتلاءٌ يعسر حتى على العظماء من ذوي الأرواح.
