Rudrākṣa Māhātmya — The Greatness of Rudraksha
द्विवक्त्रो देवदेवेशस्सर्वकामफलप्रदः । विशेषतः स रुद्रा क्षो गोवधं नाशयेद्द्रुतम्
dvivaktro devadeveśassarvakāmaphalapradaḥ | viśeṣataḥ sa rudrā kṣo govadhaṃ nāśayeddrutam
الربّ ذو الوجهين، إلهُ الآلهة، يمنح ثمراتِ كلّ المقاصد المرغوبة. وعلى وجه الخصوص، فإنّ تلك الرودراكشا تُبيد سريعًا إثمَ قتلِ البقرة.

Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga narrative; it continues the Rudrākṣa-mukha typology by associating a ‘two-faced’ Śiva-form with specific expiatory power (go-vadha pāpa-nāśa).
Significance: Teaches prāyaścitta through Śiva-related upāya: Rudrākṣa as a grace-bearing sacramental that mitigates heavy karmic burdens when paired with devotion.
Role: liberating
The verse proclaims Rudra’s compassionate sovereignty: through Shiva-connected sacred means (here, Rudrākṣa), even heavy karmic burdens can be purified when approached with devotion and right intention.
Rudrākṣa is treated as a tangible sign of Saguna Shiva’s grace—an aid for Linga-worship and japa—supporting the devotee’s inner purification and steadiness in Shiva-bhakti.
Wear Rudrākṣa with reverence and combine it with Shiva-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as a purificatory practice, aligning conduct with dharma.
