शिवपुराण-प्रशंसा (Praise of the Śiva Purāṇa) / Śivapurāṇa Māhātmya
तावत्सर्वाणि शास्त्राणि विवदंति परस्परम् । यावच्छिवपुराणं हि नोदेष्यति जगत्यहो
tāvatsarvāṇi śāstrāṇi vivadaṃti parasparam | yāvacchivapurāṇaṃ hi nodeṣyati jagatyaho
طالما لم يظهر شيفا بورانا في العالم، فإن جميع الكتب المقدسة ستتجادل مع بعضها البعض؛ عندها، سيخمد نزاعهم بتعاليمه الحاسمة عن شيفا، الرب الأسمى.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; it asserts that Śiva Purāṇa functions as pramāṇa-clarifier, resolving śāstra-vivāda by centering Pati (Śiva) as the supreme tattva.
Significance: Positions scriptural study (adhyayana/śravaṇa) as a pilgrimage of discernment (viveka) that ends doctrinal contention by establishing Śiva-tattva.
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: Kali-yuga characterized by śāstra-vivāda (mutual disputation) until Śiva-tattva is authoritatively taught.
It proclaims that competing scriptural views become reconciled when Śiva-tattva is understood through the Śiva Purāṇa—establishing Śiva (Pati) as the final ground of liberation and true knowledge.
By presenting the Śiva Purāṇa as a clarifying authority, it supports focused devotion to Śiva—commonly approached as Saguna through the Liṅga—while pointing toward the ultimate reality of Śiva beyond all contention.
A practical takeaway is to study/recite the Śiva Purāṇa with devotion and stabilize one’s sādhana with Śiva-mantra japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to remove doubt and inner conflict.
