Significance: Specifies enhanced phala for Caitra Caturthī worship (pāpa-kṣaya and bhoga-phala). In Śaiva Siddhānta, such vrata-like observances are caryā/kriyā supports: they reduce pāśa (mala/karma) and stabilize devotion, though mokṣa ultimately depends on Śiva’s grace.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Gaurī
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that time-sacralized Śiva-bhakti (worship aligned with tithi) accelerates pāpa-kṣaya (removal of karmic impurities) and multiplies puṇya, making a single observance yield the merit of a longer period.
The verse prescribes pūjā on Caturthī as a concrete, Saguna form of devotion—typically expressed through Liṅga worship with offerings, mantra, and reverence—through which the devotee gains purification and blessings.
Perform Śiva-pūjā on Caitra Caturthī—ideally with Liṅga abhiṣeka, bilva offerings, and japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” dedicating the act for pāpa-kṣaya and inner purification.
