शिवशक्त्यैक्य-तत्त्वविचारः / Inquiry into the Unity of Śiva and Śakti
Para–Apara Ontology
कीर्तनादस्य नश्यंति महान्त्यः पापकोटयः । त्रिश्चतुर्धासमभ्यस्तैर्विनश्यंति ततो ऽधिकाः
kīrtanādasya naśyaṃti mahāntyaḥ pāpakoṭayaḥ | triścaturdhāsamabhyastairvinaśyaṃti tato 'dhikāḥ

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Kīrtana/japa of Śiva-nāma or Śaiva-stotra is presented as a purifier that burns accumulated pāpa and loosens pāśa (bondage), preparing the soul for Śiva’s grace (anugraha).
Type: stotra
It teaches that sincere kīrtana and repeated remembrance of Shiva functions as a purifier: the bondage of pāpa (impurity that veils the soul) is weakened and destroyed, making the jīva fit for Shiva’s grace and liberation.
Kīrtana is a Saguna mode of approach—praising Shiva with name, form, and qualities—often performed before the Linga; through devotion and repetition, the mind becomes steady and transparent, supporting deeper realization of Shiva beyond limitations.
Regular japa/kīrtana of the Shiva-mantra or the specific stotra being discussed—repeating it at least three to four times with attention and devotion—along with simple Linga-upāsanā such as offering water and chanting.
