Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: General jyotirliṅga logic overlaps with svayambhū-liṅga category: self-manifest emblems are treated as intrinsically potent; ritual focuses on support (pīṭha) and saṃprokṣaṇa rather than ‘creating’ sanctity.
Significance: Teaches correct restoration protocol for ancient/self-manifest shrines—preserving continuity of worship while respecting the icon’s inherent sanctity.
Role: nurturing
It teaches that devotion must be joined with right order (vidhi): honoring the manifested presence of Pati (Shiva) through a properly prepared seat (pīṭha) and sanctification (saṁprokṣaṇa) so the worshipper approaches with purity and reverence.
The verse treats the Liṅga as Shiva’s accessible, saguna support for worship—whether self-manifest, divine, or sage-established—emphasizing correct installation and consecration so the external form becomes a fit locus for daily puja and grace.
Perform pīṭha-sthāpana (placing a proper base) and then saṁprokṣaṇa (consecratory sprinkling with sanctified water), followed by steady Linga-puja—ideally accompanied by Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as the inner offering.
