Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
ते मे कामं प्रयच्छंतु शिवयोरेव शासनात् । भवाद्या मूर्तयश्चाष्टौ तासामपि च शक्तयः
te me kāmaṃ prayacchaṃtu śivayoreva śāsanāt | bhavādyā mūrtayaścāṣṭau tāsāmapi ca śaktayaḥ
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya discourse to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: te me kāmaṃ prayacchaṃtu śivayoreva śāsanāt | bhavādyā mūrtayaścāṣṭau tāsāmapi ca śaktayaḥ
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
The verse affirms that all divine bestowals arise under the ordinance of Śiva united with Śakti, and that Śiva’s eight cosmic manifestations—together with their energies—operate as instruments of grace for fulfilling rightful aims and leading the devotee toward liberation.
It supports Saguna worship by showing that Śiva is approachable through specific manifestations (like Bhava and the Aṣṭamūrti), while the Linga remains the unifying symbol of that one Lord whose powers (Śaktis) act throughout creation by His command.
A practical takeaway is to perform Śiva pūjā with devotion while mentally invoking the Aṣṭamūrti and their Śaktis, repeating the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as a prayer for Śiva’s commanded grace to remove obstacles and grant auspicious fulfillment.
