It teaches that Śiva’s mantra-power is not isolated: it is complete when revered together with Śakti, and the “eight kalās” indicate a fullness of divine potency guiding the soul (paśu) toward Śiva (Pati) beyond bondage (pāśa).
By prescribing worship on a specific side of Śambhu and explicitly pairing Śiva with Śakti, the verse supports Saguna upāsanā—ritual, form-based devotion—where mantra, direction, and the Śiva-Śakti unity are honored in Linga worship.
A mantra-centered worship (bīja-upāsanā) of Śiva performed with Śakti-bhāva, observing directional placement (south side of Śambhu) as part of disciplined pūjā/nyāsa-style contemplation.
