Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
असंपूज्य शिवस्तोत्रं जपात्फलमुदाहृतम् । संपूज्य च जपे तस्य फलं वक्तुं न शक्यते
asaṃpūjya śivastotraṃ japātphalamudāhṛtam | saṃpūjya ca jape tasya phalaṃ vaktuṃ na śakyate
قد بُيِّن ثمرُ ترديد ترنيمةٍ لشيفا من غير أن تُقدَّم له العبادةُ الواجبة أولًا. أمّا إن تُليت بعد أداء العبادة على وجهها، فثمرُ تلك الممارسة لا يُستطاع وصفُه، إذ هو فوق القياس.

It supports Saguna upāsanā: worshipping Śiva through a form—especially the Liṅga—before recitation. Pūjā establishes presence and receptivity, after which stotra-japa yields results said to be beyond enumeration.
Perform Śiva-pūjā first (e.g., offering water, bilva leaves, and reverence), then recite a Śiva-stotra or do mantra-japa such as the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), especially on Mahāśivarātri or during daily worship.
