Tattva Level: pati

Sthala Purana: Concludes the protective invocation by extending anugraha to the entire surrounding retinue (Bhairavas and others), explicitly grounding their grace in ‘Śiva-śāsana’ (Śiva’s ordinance).

Significance: Teaches that subsidiary powers bless not independently but by fidelity to Śiva’s command—encouraging devotees to seek protection through proper Śaiva alignment rather than fear of spirits.

Type: stotra

FAQs

The verse highlights anugraha (grace) as flowing through Śiva’s sovereign śāsana: even Śiva’s attendants such as the Bhairavas become channels of protection and blessing when one aligns with the divine command.

In Saguna worship, devotees approach Śiva along with His retinue (gaṇas). Reverence for Śiva’s authority implies honoring the order established by Him—worship of the Liṅga with devotion and discipline invites supportive forces rather than opposition.

A practical takeaway is to pray for anugraha before worship—mentally taking refuge in Śiva’s ājñā (command) and reciting the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") to align one’s intention with Śiva’s protection.
