पूजास्थानशुद्धिः पात्रशोधनं च — Purification of the Worship-Space and Preparation of Ritual Vessels
प्रथमं देवमुद्दिश्य कृत्वा स्नानादिकाः क्रियाः । देव्यैः प्रश्चात्प्रकुर्वीत देवदेवस्य शासनात्
prathamaṃ devamuddiśya kṛtvā snānādikāḥ kriyāḥ | devyaiḥ praścātprakurvīta devadevasya śāsanāt
أولًا، مع توجيه القصد إلى الربّ (شيفا)، تُؤدَّى الشعائر التي تبدأ بالاغتسال الطقسي؛ ثم بعد ذلك تُقام عبادة الإلهة (شاكتي/ديفي) وفق أمر إله الآلهة.

It teaches disciplined approach to worship: purification and right order. In Shaiva understanding, approaching Pati (Śiva) with bodily and mental cleanliness establishes fitness for grace, and honoring Devī afterward affirms Śiva-Śakti unity without violating scriptural injunction.
The verse implies that Linga/Saguna Śiva worship should be preceded by snāna and allied preparatory rites, then complemented by Devī worship. This reflects the Purāṇic pattern where Śiva is worshiped as the supreme Lord, with Śakti honored as His inseparable power.
Perform snāna (bath) and preparatory observances first, then proceed to Devī-upacāra after Śiva-oriented preparation. Practically, this aligns with beginning japa (e.g., pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) after purification, and then offering respectful worship to Devī as prescribed.
