FAQs

It highlights śravaṇa (reverent listening) as a primary doorway to Shaiva knowledge—teachings received through a guru-paramparā should be heard with full attentiveness, as this prepares the mind for devotion to Pati (Śiva) and for liberation.

By emphasizing faithful reception of a traditional instruction, the verse frames Linga/Saguna-Śiva worship as something learned and practiced through authorized teaching—devotion becomes stable when one follows what the sages transmitted rather than personal speculation.

The immediate practice is disciplined listening and contemplation of Shaiva instruction; as a practical takeaway, one should regularly hear Shiva-kathā and then apply it through japa and daily worship as taught (e.g., mantra-recitation and focused remembrance), without negligence.
