Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya teaching to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
It emphasizes Shaiva discipline: purification through restraint and the Guru’s guidance, where even subtle experiences like dreams are examined to remove obstacles (pāśa) and steady the seeker toward Pati (Śiva).
Before engaging in Saguna Shiva worship (such as Linga-pūjā), the disciple undertakes preparatory observances and submits inner signs to the Guru, ensuring the worship is aligned with right understanding and purity.
A preparatory vow (adhivāsana) with fasting/abstinence and seclusion, followed by mindful recollection of dreams and reporting them to the Guru as part of guided sādhanā.
