समयाह्वय-संस्कारः — Rite of ‘Samayāhvaya’ and the Preparatory Layout

यदुक्तं यत्समाज्ञातं यच्चैवान्यत्प्रकीर्तितम् । शिवाचार्येण समये तत्सर्वं शिरसा वहेत्
yaduktaṃ yatsamājñātaṃ yaccaivānyatprakīrtitam | śivācāryeṇa samaye tatsarvaṃ śirasā vahet
كلّ ما قيل، وكلّ ما أُمِرَ به على وجهه، وكلّ ما أُعلِنَ سواه—في الوقت اللائق—فليحمله المرء على رأسه تعظيمًا، بوصفه أمرَ الشيفاتشاريا (معلّم شيفا).

Significance: Frames obedience to the Śivācārya’s injunctions as a direct soteriological aid—treating guru-vākya as a portable tīrtha carried ‘on the head’.
It teaches that the Śaiva aspirant should treat the Śivācārya’s instructions as supremely authoritative—received with the highest reverence—because disciplined obedience to right teaching is a direct aid in loosening pāśa (bondage) and turning the paśu (individual soul) toward Pati (Śiva).
Linga-worship and Saguna Śiva-upāsanā are traditionally performed under prescribed rules (vidhi) learned from a competent Śiva-guru; this verse emphasizes accepting those spoken and enjoined procedures—mantra, nyāsa, pūjā-krama, vrata—exactly as taught, as an act of devotion and alignment with Śiva’s order.
The takeaway is guru-niṣṭhā: follow the Śivācārya’s timing and method for daily japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī), pūjā, and vrata observances; the verse implies disciplined adherence to the teacher’s prescribed practice rather than improvisation.
