It teaches that mantra is not mere sound but disciplined sādhana: reverence (añjali), inner absorption (mind fixed on the mantra), and obedient practice under the Śivācārya—key Shaiva Siddhanta conditions for purification and grace (anugraha).
Mantra-japa performed with devotion and guru-guidance is a direct mode of Saguna Shiva worship; it steadies the mind so the worshipper can approach the Linga with concentrated bhakti, turning external ritual into inward communion.
Soft, steady japa (śanaiḥ) after receiving the mantra by instruction—reciting with joined hands and focused awareness; it implies initiated practice (dīkṣā/ācārya-śāsana) rather than casual chanting.
