FAQs

It emphasizes that spiritual disciplines and ritual observances should be undertaken with proper authority and guidance, so that worship becomes purifying (leading the paśu toward Pati) rather than merely performative or disorderly.

Linga-worship is a sacred, rule-governed approach to Saguna Shiva; this verse frames who may formally enter certain observances and under what guardianship, reinforcing that devotion should be aligned with dharma and proper initiation/permission.

The takeaway is to undertake Shaiva vratas and worship (such as Mahashivratri observance, japa of the Panchakshara, and Linga-puja) under proper permission and competent guidance; if in doubt, prioritize simple mantra-japa and inner devotion with humility.
