ममावतारा हि शुभे योगाचार्यच्छलेन तु । सर्वांतरेषु सन्त्यार्ये संततिश्च सहस्रशः । अयुक्तानामबुद्धीनामभक्तानां सुरेश्वरि । दुर्लभं संततिज्ञानं ततो यत्नात्समाश्रयेत्
mamāvatārā hi śubhe yogācāryacchalena tu | sarvāṃtareṣu santyārye saṃtatiśca sahasraśaḥ | ayuktānāmabuddhīnāmabhaktānāṃ sureśvari | durlabhaṃ saṃtatijñānaṃ tato yatnātsamāśrayet
أيتها الإلهة المباركة، إن تجلّياتي تقع حقًّا في هيئة مُعلّمٍ لليوغا؛ وفي كل عصرٍ، أيتها النبيلة، توجد سلاسل روحية بالآلاف المؤلَّفة. غير أنّ غير المنضبطين، وقليلي الفهم، وعديمي البهاكتي—يا سيّدة الآلهة—يعسر عليهم نيل المعرفة الحقّة بالسلسلة الأصيلة؛ فلذلك ينبغي للمرء أن يلجأ إليها بجهدٍ صادق.

It teaches that Shiva compassionately appears as a guru to guide beings, but without discipline (yoga), clarity (buddhi), and devotion (bhakti), one cannot easily discern the true liberating tradition; hence sincere refuge in an authentic Shaiva lineage is essential for release from pāśa (bondage).
By stressing refuge in a genuine lineage, the verse implies that proper Linga/Saguna Shiva worship—mantra, pūjā, and inner contemplation—must be received and practiced under right guidance so it becomes a means to Shiva’s grace (anugraha) rather than mere external ritual.
The takeaway is to seek initiation and disciplined practice under a true Shaiva guru—typically including japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), meditation on Shiva, and regulated conduct—since lineage-guided sādhanā makes liberating knowledge attainable.
