वीरभद्रक्रोधशमनं देवस्तुतिश्च
Pacification of Vīrabhadra and the Gods’ Hymn
त्वं प्रभो गर्वहर्ता वै दुष्टानां त्वामजानताम् । रक्षको हि विशेषेण सतां त्वत्सक्तचेतसाम्
tvaṃ prabho garvahartā vai duṣṭānāṃ tvāmajānatām | rakṣako hi viśeṣeṇa satāṃ tvatsaktacetasām
يا ربّ، إنك حقًّا تزيل كبرياء الأشرار الذين لا يعرفونك؛ وأنت، على وجه الخصوص، الحامي المميّز للصالحين الذين تعلّقت قلوبهم بك.
Suta Goswami

The verse highlights Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who dissolves the ego (garva) that binds the soul, while granting protective grace to those who remain devoted, showing that liberation begins with humility and surrender.
In Saguna worship—especially Linga-upasana—the devotee approaches Shiva as a personal Lord and protector; this verse affirms that sincere devotion draws Shiva’s safeguarding grace, while arrogance and non-recognition lead to the fall of the wicked.
Cultivate bhakti with ego-surrender through daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and mindful worship of the Shiva Linga, offering prayers for humility and protection.
