Pacification of Vīrabhadra and the Gods’ Hymn
देवा ऊचुः । त्वमेव देवाखिललोककर्ता पाता च हर्ता परमेश्वरो ऽसि । कविष्णुरुद्राख्यस्वरूपभेदै रजस्तमस्सत्त्वधृतात्ममूर्ते
devā ūcuḥ | tvameva devākhilalokakartā pātā ca hartā parameśvaro 'si | kaviṣṇurudrākhyasvarūpabhedai rajastamassattvadhṛtātmamūrte
قالت الآلهة: أنت وحدك خالق العوالم كلها، وحافظها، وساحبها إلى أصلها؛ أنت الربّ الأعلى. يا من يتجلّى ذاتُه بصورٍ تُدعى كا (براهما) وفيشنو ورودرا، حاملاً فيك صفات الغونا الثلاث: الراجس والتامس والساتفا—لك نسجد.

It declares Shiva as Parameśvara—the ultimate Pati—who performs creation, preservation, and dissolution through functional aspects (Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Rudra), while remaining the inner Self and supreme governor of all.
Though Shiva is supreme and transcendent, devotees approach Him through Saguna manifestations—especially the Śiva-liṅga—as the accessible form of the One who empowers all cosmic functions and deities.
A practical takeaway is to meditate on Shiva as the indwelling Self (ātma) while japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering worship to the liṅga with the insight that all powers of the guṇas are governed by Him.
