It teaches that Śiva’s own Śakti (often understood as māyā in its veiling function) can bewilder beings, causing them to miss the worship of Pati (the Supreme Lord). Liberation arises when that delusion is transcended through Śiva’s grace and devotion.
When minds are veiled by Śāmbhavī māyā, they neglect even accessible forms of worship. The Liṅga and Saguna worship serve as compassionate supports to turn the deluded mind toward the Supreme Śiva and gradually beyond bondage.
A practical takeaway is steady bhakti supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and regular Liṅga-arcana; these disciplines purify delusion and orient the devotee toward Śiva’s grace.
